Ingredients
-
250 g Butter, unsalted
-
250 g Sugar, brown
-
250 g Sugar, brown
-
375 g Flour, Wheat, bread flour
-
5 teaspoon Spices, ginger, ground
-
2 piece Egg, fresh
-
300 ml Milk, partially skimmed
-
2 teaspoons Baking powder
-
3 teaspoons Spices, cinnamon, ground
-
5 spoon Powdered sugar
-
1 spoon Butter, unsalted
Steps
-
Grease the sides of a deep baking dish with butter and line the bottom with baking paper. Place a larger saucepan on the stove, in which you add cubed butter, muscovado sugar, and molasses. Heat the ingredients while constantly stirring until a smooth mixture forms. Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
-
Preheat the oven to 160 degrees Celsius. Sift the flour and spice mixture into the sugar mixture. Mix all the ingredients well, then add the eggs and ground ginger. Place a new saucepan on the stove and heat the milk, to which you add baking soda. Pour the warmed milk into the batter and mix everything well until a smooth mixture forms.
-
Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Place the dish in the preheated oven for about one hour, until the batter becomes firm to the touch.
-
Once the gingerbread is baked, let it cool in the dish for a few minutes, then turn it out onto a rack and remove the parchment paper. Dust the gingerbread with powdered sugar, then cut it into equal slices, serve on a plate, and enjoy.

Advice
Gingerbread biscuits will develop a fuller aroma if they are allowed to sit for a while, so they should be prepared at least 3 days in advance. Wrap the biscuits in food foil and store them in an airtight cookie or baking box.
